EMERGENCIES

Should your child have a medical emergency you will be contacted immediately. Therefore it is very important to keep the school nurse informed of changes in phone numbers, emergency contacts and health issues.  Contact the registrar to update your information.

IF MY CHILD IS NOT FEELING WELL CAN
THEY CALL OR TEXT ME DURING THE SCHOOL DAY?

No.  From the student planner, page 8 "Illness/Nurse":

"When students are not feeling well or ill, they should always go to the nurse's office.  Students should not call/text their parent directly without visiting the clinic.  This policy /procedure allows for open dialogue as to why your child is not feeling well.  Students that text/call their parents directly for their parents to pick them up will have their cell phones confiscated by administration."

IF MY CHILD IS NOT FEELING WELL DURING SCHOOL CAN THE NURSE GIVE THEM MEDICINE?

No.  From the student planner, page 9 "Medication at School":

The nurse does not have stock medication.  Any medication given must be supplied by the parent/guardian with a doctor's note, a pharmacy label and in the original container - this includes over-the-counter medications.

MY CHILD HAS SPECIAL HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS,
WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Contact Nurse Hechler with specific details so we can plan together how to best serve your student.

RULES FOR AN ELEVATOR /LEAVE CLASS EARLY PASS
